WIK manages day-to-day operations of secondary schools in Dadaab and Kakuma. Operations include employing and training teachers, building classrooms and teacher accommodations, and securing academic supplies and supports such as IT equipment and textbooks. Students in secondary schools sit for the annual Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams (KCSEs).

WIK is a partner organisation of the DAFI Scholarship programme, which offers university scholarships to refugee students. As a partner, WIK operates the application process in Dadaab and Kakuma and assists students with the enrolment process when selected for the scholarship.

WIK also provides certificate and diploma scholarships in conjunction with the robust vocational training programme.

WIK maintains a strong partnership with many vocational and professional programmes, such as the Eastlands College of Technology in Nairobi. Through this partnership, WIK supports male scholars to attend a two year programme that includes technical training, business management, and apprenticeships.

Due to the multicultural environment present in refugee and host communities, WIK offers English language programmes to improve English skills amongst learners to enhance their overall educational experience. Often times, these classes are most useful for girls, who faced gender-related barriers earlier in their educations.
