WIU Overview
-
Through partnerships with organisations such as the UNHCR and World University Services Canada (WUSC), WIU is proud to offer scholarships at all levels of education. Highlights include facilitation of the DAFI and WUSC programmes, which allow refugee students to seek graduate and post-graduate opportunities in both East Africa and abroad. Additionally, WIU offers scholarships to Persons With Special Needs (PSNs) and Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs).
-
WIU manages early childhood development centres, primary and secondary schools, which includes hiring and training teachers, construction of classroom blocks, the provision of scholastic materials, and day to day functionality of the schools.
-
WIU operates a large network of Vocational Training Centres (VTC) which offer training for disciplines such as motor vehicle construction, ICT, electrical engineering, and building and construction. Learners are educated on business skills and provided with start-up kits to enable them to create their own enterprises.
